An 18^th century small silver “charka” of octagonal design with a pierced side handle and applied foot. The unusual chased decoration depicts ghostly scenes of phantoms swirling around naked maidens on a foggy or flame background.

Literature. The Russian ‘charka’ is a vodka or tot cup, a traditional drinking vessel used in Russian communal life for centuries. The charka represents the 16th century vodka measure of 143.5 millilitres.

This little tot is in very good condition with minimal signs of wear compatible with age.
