    A tall and impressive antique silver altar candlestick made from thick sheets of decorated silver mounted on the front and sides sections of a carved softwood stand. This was originally a pricket candlestick and has since been electrified (not wired). Height 77.5 cms. Base 20 x 13 cms. Belgian silver marks for Brussels, Belgium. Maker Pierre Hendrickx. Circa 1820.

    A magnificent pair of antique silver chargers (or sideboard dishes) with gilt finish. Decorated in the 17th century style with deep relief embossed fruit and foliage. The centre is engraved with a large coat of arms of Scott impaling Surtees for John Scott, 1st Earl of Eldon (1751-1838) and his wife Bessie. Scott was made an Earl in 1821.     A large size antique sterling silver cocktail shaker with a hammered finish. An embossed decoration of bamboo stems and leaves curls all the way round the shaker. The large top comes off to fill the ingredients and the little top cup comes off for pouring and also serves as a drinks measure. Weight 479 grams, 15.4 troy ounces. Height 23 cm. Stamped underneath with Chinese silver marks. Maker Hung Chong. Circa 1900.

To the centre the cherub figure is holding a taper stick and can be removed to use the circular box below for pen nibs etc. The two crystal faceted ink bottles have silver plated tops and cut star bases. Length 26cms, width 20cms. The edge of the nib box has silver plate marks for Elkington & Co; date cypher for 1849.

    A William IV sterling silver 4 piece tea service of compressed bellied form with cast borders and scrolling feet. The chased decoration is very beautiful with acanthus scrolls and flower heads. The tea and coffee pots have pretty flower finials, the milk jug and sugar bowl have the original bright gilt interior. Each has a hand engraved crest to the front and a monogram in old fashioned script to the reverse. Total weight 2694 grams, 86.6 troy ounces. Teapot contains 1130 ml, height 15.5cm (to the top of the handle), spread 28cm. London 1835/36. Maker John Tapley.

Decorated in the flamboyant rococo style, the scrolling high relief ornament has fretwork, sea foam and stalactites. Mounted at the top is a winged cherub and below the mirror is a figural plaque. The central wax winder supports the remains of a coil of wax, the end of which is held in place in the centre of the sconce. The small conical snuffer is attached to the top by a long silver chain.
