Description

A good pair of antique telescopic candle holders in sterling silver. Excellent plain style, typical of the period, with broad bands of gadroon and shell ornament. Detachable nozzles. The candlestick top fits inside a sleeve within the bottom half of the stick so that the height of the columns can be adjusted.

Height 22.5/28cm. Diameter of base 12.5cm.

These interesting antique candlesticks are in very good condition. Crisp borders. Stamped with full set of matching English silver hallmarks to both candlesticks for Sheffield 1828, one nozzle has matching maker for Sheffield 1827, the other nozzle, although completely matching, has no marks. These candlesticks are in good, clean condition with some negligible dents around the base. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
