A curious little silver container in the form of a small teapot with a serpent spout and handle, four heavy cast eagle feet, and the lid finial modelled as a swan. 19^th century. Fantastic decorative quality and heavy gauge silver. Likely to be an oil dispenser (oliera), possibly to fill something like a kettle spirit lamp. Contains 320ml. Weight 519 grams, 16.6 troy ounces. Length 18.5cm from spout to handle. Rome, Italy. Maker Luigi Sciolet. Circa 1840.

An excellent quality antique sterling silver mounted box with faceted ruby glass panels and star cut base. In the style of Baccarat. The top is engraved with a stag in a forest scene. To the front there is an aperture, presumably for a spoon, indicating that it is probably for sugar. Height 11 cm. Width 13 cm. Depth 10 cm. The silver mount is stamped with English silver hallmarks for London 1880. Maker Charles Boyton.

The body is beautifully ornamented with cherubs, swags, acanthus leaf and other classical motifs on a hand chased matted background. An elegant antique silver casket with hinged carrying handle and flap fastener with silver padlock (no key). Suitable for use as a jewellery box. Lovely plain style and heavy gauge silver. Engraved to the lid is an inscription “Ein Andenkung”, a monogram and a date (probably 10th August 1904). The interior has the original light gilding. Weight 425 grams, 13.6 troy ounces. Top measures 13.5 x 8.25 cms. Spread across feet 15.5 cms. Marked underneath with Russian silver marks. Circa 1904.
