An elegant pair of antique sterling silver sauce tureens of hexagonal form with matching covers. Classic Adam style shape with simple plain vase shape design with spreading handles, reed borders, and cast urn lid finial. Each has a matching hand engraved crest to the tureen front and the lid. Weight 1081 grams, 34.7 troy ounces. Height 15cm (to top of finial). Spread 23cm. Tureen 17.3cm x 9.3cm. London 1793. Maker John Robins.

These classic style tureens are in very good condition with no damage or restoration. The crests still have good definition. Fully matching and original. Both bases and lids are marked with a full set of crisp and matching English silver hallmarks. The tureens were originally from at least a set of four, these being tureen numbers 3 and 4; the edge of each lid and base are marked with dots so that it is easy to fit the correct top to its base. 1 tiny dink on the edge of one of the covers. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
