Description
An early German single silver candelabra with a detachable top bearing 2 candle lights. Heavy cast silver. Excellent rococo style, typical of the period. Fixed candlestick nozzles. There is a charming old collection label on the underside. Weight 945 grams, 30.3 troy ounces. Total height 37.5 cms. Height of candlestick 24 cms. Spread across the branches 27 cms. Marked with German silver stamps on both top and base. Augsburg, Germany. Date letter for 1749. Makers mark “ATS”.
Condition
This rare early candelabra is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Marked on the base with German silver marks for Augsburg, date letter for 1749 and the makers mark "ATS". The top is also marked on the base sconce however the marks are difficult to make out. One of the candle nozzles at the top has a small knock to one side (see photo). Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
