Description
A handsome set of four antique sterling silver bottle ticket each having a silver chain. Square form with gadroon and shell borders. Each is engraved with a letter to the centre – “C”, “M”, “P” and “S”.
Total weight 76 grams, 2.4 troy ounces.
Measures 3.5 x 3.9 cm.

The labels are in very good condition. Each stamped on the back with a full and matching set of English silver hallmarks.

Maker: John Reily
John Reily, no record of apprenticeship or freedom. 1sr mark as Riley, in partnership with Mary Hyde as smallworkers 1799. Subsequently he married Mary and his 2nd mark 1801 as smallworker appears alone. 3rd mark 1802. 4th mark (2 sizes) 1805. 5th mark 1823. Buried 15 May 1826. His widow’s and son’s joint mark entered 31 May 1826.
