A nice little antique sterling silver bowl with the plain styling typical for this period. Suitable as a small sauceboat. Owners initials engraved to the base.
Weight 67 grams, 2.1 troy ounces.
Height 2.8cm. Spread 11cm.

Maker probably Edward Cornock.
Sterling silver.
Marks. Stamped with a full set of English silver hallmarks. The makers mark is not fully stamped.
Literature. The antique silver pap boat was originally used as a shallow feeding dish for a child or invalid. These appeared circa 1710 and fell out of manufacture about 120 years later. With their smooth elegant shape, they make ideal servers for sauce.
Condition
This little dish is in very good condition with a good patina.
