This attractive basket is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Deep crisp embossed decoration. With a full and clear set of English silver hallmarks. William Plummer, London silversmith, apprenticed to Edward Aldridge 1746, free 1755. ist mark entered as largeworker 1755. 2nd mark 1774. 3rd mark 1789. His son William apprenticed to Thomas Whipham as goldsmith 1777. Plummer is mainly known for his finely cut baskets and strainers.
