Description

An early pair of solid silver candlesticks with baluster columns and spreading bases with sunken wells. This style is typical of early 18^th century English candlesticks. Excellent colour. Each has a hand engraved initial “R” to the top of the base and a contemporary inscription below.

Marks. Both stamped with continental silver marks underneath, possibly Swiss. The inscriptions “FMW A 1726 Jr 16 Feb” below the bases are contemporary.

These handsome antique silver candle holders are in very good condition.
Moderate signs of wear commensurate with age.
