Description
A rare set of antique silver stacking trays with intertwined serpent handles and animals paw feet with decorative mounts and rosettes. The quality of this nest of trays is outstanding. Heavy gauge silver and fine attention to detail. Original light gilding.
Total weight 4838 grams, 155.5 troy ounces.
Maker Marc-Augustin Lebrun.
Circa 1820.
Small tray – weight 1127 grams, 36.2 troy ounces, spread 35cm, 26 x 18.5cm.
Medium tray – 1505 grams, 48.3 troy ounces, spread 41cm, 32 x 23cm.
Large tray 2206 grams, 70.9 troy ounces, spread 48cm, 37.5 x 28 cms.
Marks. Each tray is marked next to both side handles with a French silver stamp and marked underneath with the French silver stamp and also the makers mark for Lebrun, Paris. Silver grade 950.
Condition
These fine silver trays are in excellent condition. There is some light scratching to each corner of larger 2 trays where the feet from the tray above sit. There are 4 feet rosettes missing (see bottom photo).
