Description
Stunning quality. A rare pair of antique sterling silver campaign dining sets, cleverly dismountable, so that everything fits inside the matching drinking cup. Each set consists of a sterling silver fork, spoon and steel knife, all with a handle which unscrews, a silver handled travelling corkscrew and a three section sterling silver condiment barrel. All contained in a sterling silver beaker with all over engine turned decoration. Each piece is silver hallmarked for London 1866 and has monogram engraved in old fashioned script. Maker Thomas Johnson. Retailed by E & E Emanuel, Portsea.
Condition
These lovely sets are in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. All the silver pieces are hallmarked London 1866, monogrammed, and by the maker Thomas Johnson. Lovely bright original gilding to the condiment and beaker interiors. The condition is particularly crisp although the steel knife and corkscrew worm are both rusty. The cutlery handles have some wear marks. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
