    10140 Antique Silver Owl Decanter

    A fantastic antique coconut cup finely modelled in the Renaissance style as an owl with hinged wings and figural strapwork. The silver head, with large cut paste eyes surrounded by tuffs of feathers, is detachable and can be used as a drinking cup. The silver base is intricately modelled as a rocky outcrop mounted with applied insects and amphibians. Total weight, including coconut, 1025 grams. Height 29.5cm. Spread across the wings 19cm. Hanau, Germany. Circa 1890. Maker Gebruder Gutgesell. Silver grade 875/1000.

    A stunning pair of antique wall mirrors of tall shaped form (girandoles), each mounted with two pairs of candle sconces. Decorated in the flamboyant rococo style, the scrolling high relief ornament has fretwork, sea foam and stalactites. Mounted at the top is a winged cherub and below the mirror is a figural plaque. Height 65 cm. Width 34 cm. Mirror height 30 cm, width 18 cm. Probably French. Circa 1900.

    A pair of superb quality silver salt cellars by the world famous English silversmith Paul Storr. Excellent quality and good gauge silver as you’d expect from this sought after maker. Each rococo sea shell is supported on three conch shell feet and has the original bright gilt interior. Hand engraved to the front is a crest of a hand clutching a dagger. Total weight 255 grams, 8.1 troy ounces. Height 5cm. Top measures 10x9cm. London 1830. Maker Paul Storr. Sterling silver.
