A good antique sterling silver tankard with domed hinged lid and plain baluster design. Attractive strapwork to the top of the handle. An unusual feature is the engraved decoration to the heart shaped finial at the base of the handle. Uninscribed. Contains 900 ml. Weight 717 grams, 23 troy ounces. Height 19.5 cms. Diameter 9.75 cms (top). London 1768. Maker John King.
