A good looking antique sterling silver mug of baluster form with scroll handle. Classic plain style. With hand engraved owners initials on the handle (more usually found on the lidded tankards of this period). Contains 450 ml. Weight 364 grams, 11.7 troy ounces. Height 12 cm. Spread 12.4 cm. A good antique sterling silver tankard with domed hinged lid. Plain straight sided design with concentric rim and flared base. Decorative thumbpiece and strapwork to the handle. The front is uninscribed and there are owners initials inscribed on the handle. Contains 900 ml. Weight 748 grams, 24 troy ounces. Height 18 cms. Spread 18 cms. Diameter of top 9.8 cms, base 12.5 cms. London 1767. Made by John Payne.
