A fine early antique silver tankard of cylindrical form with coopered bands and a shaped handle. *Britannia standard silver. Excellent plain styling. To the front there is a good hand engraved armorial within a decorative cartouche. Good weight and colour. Contains 550 ml, 1 pint. Weight 372 grams, 11.9 troy ounces. Height 11.4 cms. Small size silver cream jugs without lids were only introduced in the 1720’s so this is probably one of the earliest silver cream jugs ever made. Britannia standard silver*. Excellent colour.
