Total weight 565 grams, 18.1 troy ounces. Height 14.5 cms. Continental silver marks and English import marks for London 1895. Maker William Moering.

    8739 Antique Charles II Silver Porringer

    A rare piece of early English silver. A large 2 handled antique silver porringer of plain form. The matching cover has a capstan shaped finial so that the lid can be turned upside down and used on its own as a saucer. This has the form of a typical early Restoration porringer, with bellied shape and the lid sitting over the upper rim. There is a small silver support either side next to the handle for the lid to sit on. Hand engraved to the front, and repeated on the cover, are the arms and crest for the Yong family of Medhurst, Sussex. Weight 375 grams, 12 troy ounces. Height 14 cm (total), 10 cm (cup), 4.5 cm (lid). Diameter 10 cm. Spread across the handles 17 cm. London 1675. Makers mark “SR”* in a shield (there are 2 similar marks in Jacksons, see page 124 and 129, bottom of the page), probably Simon Romney.

    A good size sterling silver bowl and cover in the late 17th century chinoiserie style. Engraved with a charming decoration of birds and foliage. Good gauge silver. Weight 569 grams, 18.2 troy ounces. Height 15 cm (to top of finial), 10.5 (top of body). Spread across handles 19.5 cm. Diameter of bowl 12.7 cms. Both pieces hallmarked London 1912. Maker Robert Frederick Fox.

    9566 Antique Silver Plated Wall Lights

    A stunning pair of antique wall mirrors of tall shaped form (girandoles), each mounted with two pairs of candle sconces. Decorated in the flamboyant rococo style, the scrolling high relief ornament has fretwork, sea foam and stalactites. Mounted at the top is a winged cherub and below the mirror is a figural plaque. Height 65 cm. Width 34 cm. Mirror height 30 cm, width 18 cm. Probably French. Circa 1900.
