Description
An excellent quality antique silver stipple ground beaker of tapering form and plain style, the body with simulated dotted texture. Simple shape with concentric double ribbed detail to the top. Contains 160 ml. Weight 120 grams, 3.8 troy ounces. Height 7.5 cms. Stamped underneath with German silver marks (assay scrape and the pineapple Augsburg town mark). Makers mark “DS” for Dominik Zaler (listed in Rosenberg). Circa 1690.
Condition
This early German silver beaker is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. The stipple engraving is not worn. Good clear silver marks. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
