An excellent quality double coaster trolley with articulated mechanism. The two wine bottle holders have decorative applied mounts with flowers and foliate scrolls. The turned wooden bases have centre buttons. The undercarriage is well made and operates smoothly.
Length 41.5cm. Diameter of coaster 16.5cm. Height 9.5cm.

Literature: First introduced in the 1820s, the decanter wagon or coaster trolley is a stand holding two coasters mounted on four wheels with a swivelling handle. These were used in more formal occasions to pass the wine from guest to guest down a long table.
Condition
This attractive wine wagon is in very good condition. The undercarriage is well made and operates smoothly. The silver plate is generally in very good condition, the coaster mounts have a slight bit of lead showing. The woods are a bit scuffed.
