A rare and delightful antique scent bottle with a decorative gold mount. Excellent quality. In the original fitted box. The beautiful gold mounted top has a hand engraved design with a classical Greek key border and scroll work additions, inside the hinged top there is a small glass stopper. The oval shaped body is made of multi faceted rock crystal and typically of the period, has a rounded base which was made to lie down. Bottle height 10 cms. Width 4.25 cms. Stamped on the mount with a small Dutch gold mark, circa 1860.
This elegant little perfume bottle is in very good condition and still retains the original internal stopper and carrying case. The engravings are crisp. There are 2 spots of lead solder on the back of the hinge. The crystal is in good condition. The box is in good order with a bit of wear, the little catch is complete but has a bit of wear. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
