Description
An antique silver beaker of tall tapering form with a flared rim. Large size and good gauge silver. The cup has fine quality engraving of cherubs and garlands of fruit surrounded by foliate scrolls and classical motifs. The base still has an old Dutch stock label.
Weight 462 grams, 14.8 troy ounces.
Height 19.2 cm. Diameter 12.5 cm (top), 9.2 cm (base).
Stamped underneath with Netherlands silver marks.
The makers mark, a lion, is probably Dordrecht, 1635 or 1658.
Condition
This handsome beaker is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Stamped underneath with Dutch silver marks. The engraving is crisp. All original. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
