Description
A charming antique silver double candlestick in the unusual form of an early 18th century snuffer stand with carrying handle. Heavy gauge silver. The tray is engraved with a flower and scroll trellis design and to the centre there is an armorial with two standing dogs and the crest of a crown. It stands on four pretty little feet.
Weight 446 grams, 14.3 troy ounces.
Length 20.2 cm. Width 9.2 cm. Spread across handle 16.5 cm. Height 7 cm.
Stamped on every piece with French silver marks.
Circa 1850.
Condition
This practical silver candlestick is in very good condition. Each piece is stamped with French silver marks. The centre engraving is a bit worn. One of the little nuts underneath holding the candle holders in place is a replacement. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
