Of colonial interest. A delightful antique silver teapot with embossed decoration all over of a hunting scene. With a snake handle and coiled snake finger rest (to assist pouring) on top. The decoration is very charming with the palm tree forest inhabited by elephants, lions, rabbits, a boy with a spear and a deity with wings. Contains 750 ml. Weight 515 grams, 16.5 troy ounces. Height 12 (to top of snake). Spread 25 cms. Unmarked silver. Indian, probably Kutch. Circa 1900.
This pretty teapot is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. The deep relief decoration is crisp and good quality. There are a couple of shallow dents which are hardly detectable within the decoration Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
