A delightful antique sterling silver child’s rattle complete with a whistle and real pink coral teether. Lovely bright gilt finish. There are 10 silver bells attached. The engraved decoration is very pretty. Weight 62 grams, 2 troy ounces. Length 14 cms. London 1810. Maker Elizabeth Morley.
Condition
This pretty baby's rattle is in very good condition. No restoration. No wear to the gilt. The silver bells are complete and matching. The maker's mark on the whistle "EM" is clear and easy to read. It has a full set of clear English silver hallmarks on the collar. There is one is one claw on the collar missing (see photo). Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.

Thomas Morley, no record of apprenticeship or freedom. 1st mark entered as plateworker in partnership with George Baskerville 1775. 2nd mark alone 1778. 3rd mark 1779. Died circa 1794.
