Description
A stunning quality 19th century engraved crystal claret jug with decorative silver mount and pedestal foot. Very elegant design. Original gilt finish. The jug has a detachable silver grape stopper, a graceful bacchus and cherub design handle, and classical motifs to the mount. The crystal glass body has an excellent quality grapevine engraved design. Height 40.5 cms. Spread 12.5 cms. Marked on each piece for London 1856. Maker John Figg.
Condition
This attractive wine jug is in very good condition with no damage or restoration to the silver or crystal. Marked on all pieces with matching English silver hallmarks. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
