A fabulous antique silver box mounted with panels of filigree silver decorated with enamel flowers and leaves and studded with pearls and semi precious stones. Exquisite workmanship. Gilt finish. Weight 398 grams, 12.7 troy ounces. Height 6.5 cms. Top measures 11.25 x 7.25 cms. Base measures 15 x 1 cms. Unmarked silver. Continental. Probably German circa 1840.
This beautiful box, except for one fault, is in very good condition. All the pearls and semi precious stones are present. The enamel and the silver gilt are in good condition. Sadly the rear filigree panel is missing with just the underneath gilt finish showing together with the remains of 2 retaining pins. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
