A good size silver bowl and cover in the late 17th century chinoiserie style. Engraved with a charming decoration of birds and foliage. Good gauge silver.
Weight 569 grams, 18.2 troy ounces.
Height 15cm (to top of finial), 10.5cm (top of body). Spread across handles 19.5cm. Diameter of bowl 12.7cm.
Both pieces hallmarked London 1912.
Maker Robert Frederick Fox.
Sterling silver.
Marks. The cup is stamped on the body near the handle and on edge of the lid, with a full set of clear English hallmarks.
Condition
This good quality silver porringer is in very good condition. The lid and body are fully matching. The engraving is still well defined.
