A William IV sterling silver 4 piece tea service of compressed bellied form with cast borders and scrolling feet. The chased decoration is very beautiful with acanthus scrolls and flower heads. The tea and coffee pots have pretty flower finials, the milk jug and sugar bowl have the original bright gilt interior. Each has a hand engraved crest to the front and a monogram in old fashioned script to the reverse.

Total weight 2694 grams, 86.6 troy ounces.

Teapot contains 1130 ml, height 15.5cm (to the top of the handle), spread 28cm.

The silver tea set is in very condition. Each piece has a full set of English silver hallmarks stamped underneath the body, the lids with maker, lion, lion and date letter marks. The teapot has the date letter “u” for 1835, the other pieces have the “A” for 1836. The handles have slight movement but are firm enough to use safely. The pots pour beautifully and do not leak. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
