A good matched set of 6 antique sterling silver spoons in the attractive feather edge pattern. Gilt bowls.

3 spoons London 1882, maker Henry John Lias & James Wakely. 3 spoons lion mark only.
Sterling silver
Marks. 3 spoons with good, clear and matching English silver hallmarks, all same date and maker. The other 3 spoons with lion mark only, minor difference in size.
Condition
These set of solid silver spoons are in very good condition.

Maker: Henry John And James Wakely
HJ Lias & J Wakely. Started in 1791 when John Lias began in business as a buckle-maker. In 1818 his son Henry Lias I became partner and they were joined from 1823 to 1837 by another son, Charles. Henry Lias I and his son Henry Lias II were partners from 1850. In 1879 Henry Lias II formed a firm with James Wakely. In 1884 the firm consisted of James Wakely and Frank Wheeler, becoming Wakely & Wheeler in 1909. In 1957 the business was acquired by Padgett & Braham Ltd.
