Description

An antique solid silver cup with a tall tapering shape on a broad circular foot. Good plain style and heavy weight. Original bright gilt bowl. Contains 230 ml. Weight 577 grams, 18.5 troy ounces. Height 26 cms. Diameter – top 8 cms, foot 13.4 cms. Marked on the edge of the foot rim with Spanish silver marks and the date 1790. Possibly Madrid.

Condition

This lovely antique wine cup is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. The gilding has very little wear. The chalice has been tested for water retention and does not leak. Stamped with Spanish silver marks on the foot rim, the silver grade will probably be 833 or 916 - a bit lower than sterling silver (925). Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
