An exquisite little antique silver cup dating from the early 1600’s. It’s very rare to find a small cup from this date and with such fine proportions. The tapering bowl stands on a knopped stem with a spreading circular foot.

Contains 85ml.
Weight 115g, Height 11.7cm, 3.6 troy oz.
London circa 1630.
Maker Daniel Gee.
Sterling silver.

Marks. Stamped below the rim with the leopard’s head and maker’s mark “DG with an anchor between” probably for Daniel Gee – attribution by David Mitchell “Silversmiths in Elizabethan and Stuart London”. Lion mark to the underside. The lion and date letter are missing, possibly lost in the rim repair.

This charming little cup is in good condition with moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Shows faint signs of previous restoration to the rim and foot.
