Provincial silver. A handsome antique silver cup with twin side handles and raised on a pedestal foot. Lovely plain form and good gauge silver.

Contains 750ml.
Weight 526 grams, 16.9 troy ounces.
Height 17.4cm. Diameter of top 11.1cm. Spread 21.5cm.

Maker Dorothy Langland.
Sterling silver.

Marks. Stamped below the rim with a full set of clear English silver hallmarks, both handles with the makers mark only.

Condition

The cup is in very good condition. Shows moderate signs of wear commensurate with age.

The Langlands were a Newcastle based family business which, for sixty years, was the largest silver producer in Newcastle. Dorothy Langland was active 1804-1814 following death of her husband, John Langlands II.
