Description
An antique sterling silver teapot of circular form with a pull off lid. Drum teapots are very desirable and are usually found between 1760 and 1780. Lovely plain styling with bright cut engraved and dot pricked bands with flower head motifs. To the front is a finely engraved crest within a decorate cartouche. Contains 700 ml. Weight 514 grams, 16.5 troy ounces. Height 13cm. Spread 23.5cm. Diameter 10.5cm. London 1775. Maker Charles Wright.
Condition
The antique silver teapot is in very good condition. The hand engraving still has good definition with just a little wear. Later crest. Stamped with a full set of clear English silver hallmarks underneath, the lid has the lion mark (not fully struck). The teapot pours beautifully and does not leak. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.

Charles Wright, apprenticed to Thomas Whipham 1747, free 1754. Ist mark entered as largeworker in partnership with Thomas Whipham 1757. 2nd mark alone 1775. 3rd mark (2 sizes) 1780. 4th mark 1780. Elected to Livery 1758, Court 1777, Warden 1783-5. Died 1815.
