A beautifully modelled antique sterling silver stirrup cup in the form of a fox head. Fine features and lovely expressive face.
Weight 147 grams, 4.7 troy ounces.
Length 11.5 cm. Width 10 cm.
English silver hallmarks on the rim for London 1773.

Literature: The stirrup cup held a drink which was consumed while mounted on horseback, usually prior to a hunt moving off. As it is of small capacity it can be emptied quickly and there is no need to set it down during use.
Condition
This rare little hunting cup is in very good condition. Stamped with a set of crisp English silver hallmarks. The definition is still very good. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
