An elegant antique silver drinking chalice with a tapering bowl on a spreading base. Classic plain style and borders. Excellent quality and weight. Original bright gilt interior.

Weight 257 grams, 8.2 troy ounces.

Maker William Frisby, a former partner of the famous Paul Storr.
Sterling silver.
Marks. Stamped on the edge of the base with a full set of English silver hallmarks.

This attractive silver goblet is in very good condition. Original gilt interior.

William Frisby, London silversmith, apprenticed to John Crouch, free 1782. Mark entered in partnership with John Edwards 1791. 2nd mark alone1792. 3rd mark in partnership with Paul Storr 1792. 4th mark alone 1798. 5th mark 1801. 6th mark in partnership with his son John 1811. 3 of his sons were apprenticed to their father – John in 1799, William in 1806, Daniel Luffman in 1809. Died 1820.
