An excellent antique sterling silver mug of shapely baluster form having a scroll handle with acanthus leaf decoration. Good size. Classic plain style. Hand engraved to the front with a crest over inials in old fashioned gothic script. Contains 450 ml. Weight 332 grams, 10.6 troy ounces. Height 12,3 cms. Spread 12 cms. Diameter 8.2 cms (top). London 1762. Maker probably Samuel Whitford I.
Condition
This useful drinking mug is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Good colour. No erasures. The engraving is crisp. Stamped underneath with a full and clear set of English silver hallmarks. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
