An elegant antique silver salver with swept feet and bead border. To the centre there is a hand engraved armorial within a decorative cartouche a crest and armorial. All within a wide border of foliate scroll engraving.

Weight 1231 grams, 39.5 troy ounces.

Sterling silver.

Crisp engraved armorial and borders. Stamped on the reverse with a full set of clear English silver hallmarks. The scroll engraving to the centre border is probably 19th century. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.

Maker: John Crouch & Thomas Hannam

Thomas Hannam completed his apprenticeship to John Café in 1761 and went into partnership with John Crouch in 1765. The firm was known particularly as makers of fine quality trays, salvers and waiters. Their earlier marks also appear on cast candlesticks, very likely due to Hannam's apprenticeship to the Cafes.
