Description
A very pretty antique sterling silver sweetmeat basket with blue glass liner. With rope twist handle and borders. Exquisite wirework with applied leaves and flowers and to the front there is a crest engraved within a cartouche. Weight of silver 159 grams, 5.1 troy ounces. Height 7 cms, 11 cms to top of handle. London 1779. Maker David Bell.
Condition
This attractive basket is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. The glass has no chips, cracks or other damage. Fully stamped with clear English silver hallmarks. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
