A fine pair of antique silver sugar casters with side handles. Plain style with gadroon borders. To the front each has a hand engraved armorial with a boar crest.
Weight 951 grams, 30.5 troy ounces. Height 25cm (caster), 17.5cm (vase).

Very good condition with no damage. The engravings are still sharp. Both stamped underneath with full and matching set of English silver hallmarks, the tops are marked on the rims with the maker and lion.

William Grundy, apprenticed to Edward Vincent 1731, free 1739. 1st mark entered 1743, 2nd mark (2 sizes) 1748, 3rd mark 1748. Livery 1750. 4th mark 1777. 5th mark in partnership with Edward Fernell 1779. Died circa 1780.
