Description

A handsome antique sterling silver samovar with pineapple finial, lions mask handles and ivory tap finial. Typical decoration of the period with the half fluted decoration to body and lid and gadroon borders. The lions paw feet with shell mounts are impressive. The animal pouring spout is very charming. To the front is a hand engraved crest and motto “Nec Temere Nec Timide”. Weight 2587 grams, 83.1 troy ounces. Height 34 cms. London 1798. Maker William Bennett.

Condition

This impressive hot water urn is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. The engraved crest is sharp. Both lid and base are stamped with clear and matching silver hallmarks. In fully functional order. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
