An elegant antique sterling silver basket with swing handle. Excellent quality chased decoration. Weight 23.5 troy ounces. Height 29 cms. Length 36 cms. Width 25 cms. London 1789. By William Plummer.
Condition
This attractive basket is in very good condition with no damage or restoration. Deep crisp embossed decoration. With a full and clear set of English silver hallmarks. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.

Maker: William Plummer
William Plummer, London silversmith, apprenticed to Edward Aldridge 1746, free 1755. ist mark entered as largeworker 1755. 2nd mark 1774. 3rd mark 1789. His son William apprenticed to Thomas Whipham as goldsmith 1777. Plummer is mainly known for his finely cut baskets and strainers.
