A good antique sterling silver chamber stick with matching candle snuffer and candle nozzle. Very pretty shaped borders.
Total weight 419 grams, 13.4 troy ounces.
Height 10cm (to top of nozzle). Diameter of base 14.7cm.
Marked on all 3 pieces with makers mark for the London maker Henry Crowder.
Circa 1830.
Signed/Inscribed: This chamberstick has no assay marks which indicates that is was not made for resale and so the maker did not need to go to the additional expense of having the piece hallmarked. It will have been made either for personal use by the silversmith and his family or as a gift.
Condition
This attractive chamberstick is in very good condition. Every piece is original and has matching crests and makers mark. There are a couple of minor dinks on the candle snuffer. No assay marks.
