Description
A heavy quality antique sterling silver drinking chalice with a cast border decoration to the lower body, the knop and around the foot. Excellent quality and good colour. Original gilt interior. To the front there is a large hand engraved cartouche with a presentation inscription.
Weight 229 grams, 7.36 troy ounces.
Height 14cm. Diameter 8cm.
Marked on the body for London 1820.
Maker Charles Price.
Signed/Inscribed: Inscription reads “Presented to Charles Fowler Esq. By the members of the Kingshead Benefit Society Stokenchurch as a token of their respect & gratitude for his kind support towards the above Institution of Friendship & Unity. June 3rd 1857”.
Condition
This lovely silver cup is in very good condition. Good weight and colour. The silver marks are rubbed but can be read.
