Description

Description

Of sporting interest. A rare pair of sterling silver mounted hunting horns, each bearing the crest of a lion on an oval plaque. The mouthpieces are probably later. They play beautifully. Spread 26cm. Top measures 7×5.8cm. London 1815. Maker Phipps, Robinson & Phipps.

Condition

The horns are in good but used condition. Both silver lower collars have a full set of matching English silver hallmarks, one silver rim has matching silver marks, the chains and mouthpieces are unmarked. There is a small fault to the top of one horn – see photo. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
