Scottish silver. An antique sterling silver jug of large size. Excellent plain form with lower body ribbed design and standing on a square pedestal foot. Gilt interior. Wooden handle insulators. Contains 1800 ml. Weight 1074 grams, 34.5 troy ounces. Height 28.5 cms. Spread 21 cm. Foot 11 cm square. Edinburgh 1804. Maker James Dempster.

Condition

This useful silver jug is in very good condition with no damage. Stamped on the front under the lip with a full set of English silver hallmarks. The base of the handle has been strengthened and is very firm (see photo). The jug has been tested for water retention and does not leak. Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
