    An outstanding antique silver monteith bowl complete with the original detachable collar with castellated scroll border and cherub heads. Excellent size and proportions. The body decoration is typical for a monteith of the period 1690-1702 and has a series of asymmetrical tear shaped panels interspersed with unusual foliate “face” motifs; all on an intricately hand chased matted background. The lions mask side handles are beautifully modelled. Weight 1780 grams, 57.2 troy ounces. Height 21.4cm (with Monteith collar), 15.6cm (without collar). Diameter 27.5cm (collar), 26.2cm (bowl). London 1697/8. Maker Robert Timbrell. Britannia standard silver (95.8% pure).

    Stunning quality. A rare pair of antique sterling silver campaign dining sets, cleverly dismountable, so that everything fits inside the matching drinking cup. Each set consists of a sterling silver fork, spoon and steel knife, all with a handle which unscrews, a silver handled travelling corkscrew and a three section sterling silver condiment barrel. All contained in a sterling silver beaker with all over engine turned decoration. Each piece is silver hallmarked for London 1866 and has monogram engraved in old fashioned script.     An attractive pair of antique sterling silver candlesticks with shaped reeded columns standing on splayed square bases with canted corners. The sticks are decorated with classical motifs such as rams heads, urns, rope twists and garlands. Filled bases. Height 30 cms. Base 13 cms. Sheffield 1894. Maker Hawksworth & Eyre.

    Excellent quality antique commemorative shovel with ebonised and carved wooden handle. Silver plated. Life size. Presentation inscription to the front of the spade. The decorative mounts have intricate engraved borders, the deeply chased decoration with flowers and leaves. Length 89 cms. Width 18 cms. Stamped on the reverse with silver plate marks for S. Hart & Co. Circa 1883.
