  A rare antique sterling silver tankard with domed hinged lid and plain baluster design. From the Matthew Boulton and John Fothergill partnership and made in 1773, the first year of the Birmingham assay office. Good weight. Simple strapwork to the top of the handle and a cut out thumb piece. Inside you can still see the hammered finish. Uninscribed. Contains 900 ml. Weight 708 grams, 22,7 troy ounces. Height 22 cms. Diameter 9 cms (top). Birmingham 1773. Maker Matthew Boulton and John Fothergill.

  A good early English sterling silver flat lidded tankard. Lovely plain design and hand beaten silver. With a simple straight sided form and S scroll handle finishing in a decorative thumb piece. Uninscribed. Owners initials engraved to the handle. Good patina. Contains 800 ml. Weight 628 grams, 20.1 troy ounces. Total height 15.6 cm. Spread 18.7 cm. Diameter 10 cm (top). London 1688.

  An excellent set of antique sterling silver cutlery in the popular Kings pattern. Each piece has an engraved initial “C”. Total 84 pieces including 2 sets of silver handled knives. Weight 4049 grams, 130 troy ounces (excluding the knives). Sheffield 1910-16 except the knives and 3 dessert spoons and 3 tea spoons which are 1960s. All flatware by maker Mappin & Webb. Knives by maker E Viner.
