A good antique silver lidded tankard with domed lid. Sterling silver. Lovely plain design with simple straight sides, the body with a concentric reed ring to the base of the handle. The hand engraved armorial has a crest and motto “Stabilis in Fide”. Owners initials to the top of the handle. Contains 1070 ml. Weight 864 grams, 27.7 troy ounces. Height 18.2 cm. Spread 18 cm. Diameter 10.5 cm (top). London 1738. Maker Richard Gosling. Sterling silver.

A classic antique silver jug of baluster form on a plain circular cast foot. Sparrow beak lip. To the front is an expansive armorial within a decorative cartouche. Excellent colour. Useful for serving cold drinks such as beer, wine or water. Contains 1000 ml. Weight 686 grams, 22 troy ounces. Height 19cm (to top of thumbpiece). Spread 17cm. Diameter 8.8 cm. London 1736.
