Each piece (excluding knives and fish cutlery) has an engraved crest and motto “Nil Sine Labore”. All in a marvellous fitted wooden box in the form of a miniature bureau with inlays and serpentine front. Weight excluding knives and fish cutlery 4368 grams, 140.4 troy ounces. Most of the silver pieces are Sheffield 1913-1924, maker Henry Atkins.

A stylish telescopic solid gold ruler with an ivory button dating from the 1920s era. The measure opens out into 3 sections measuring one imperial foot in length. When closed the ruler shows the measure 11.5 cms, 4.5 inches; when open it measures 30.5 cms, 12 inches. On one side there is the inscription “One Thousand Square Miles” and on the reverse there is a presentation inscription in script dated 2/2/25. Weight 23 grams (including button).
