    A good quality antique silver box of shaped bombe form with a ribbed body, hinged lid and flower finial. Probably a sugar box or tea caddy. Original gilt interior. Good gauge silver. Weight 287 grams, 9.2 troy ounces. Height 12.5 cm. Top measures 12.8 x 8.5 cm. Marked underneath with the old German silver mark “12” and initial “P”. Circa 1820.

    An elegant antique sterling silver inkstand with shaped sides, reeded borders and mounted on elegant splay feet. Fitted each side with a pen tray. Original gilt finish. Mounted with a pair of cut crystal ink bottles and a central hinged top box for pen nibs etc. Hand engraved with armorials to the front, back and on the box top, Weight 530 grams, 17 troy ounces.     An attractive little antique silver casket in the 17th century style with a hinged lid and squirrel finial. The openwork cast body is smothered in cherubs, flower heads and scroll work.     A lovely little novelty collector’s item. An early 19th century gold vinaigrette modelled as a travelling case. The hinged cover, with a carrying handle, is inscribed ‘Souvenir’. The cover opens to reveal a pierced hinged grille. 2 coloured gold, the body is a rich yellow gold and the flower highlights and body fluting are in copper gold. Approx. measurements – height 2cm (handle extended), length 1.8cm, width 1.5cm. Weight 4.7grams. Circa 1820. Unmarked gold. Continental.

    An exquisite antique silver inkstand by the master craftsman John Bridge. Sterling silver with the original bright gilt finish. All contained within a boat shaped dish, this charming piece has a carrying handle surmounted by a model bee. The cut crystal inkwell sits within a decorative raised gallery, the candle holder is formed as a flower raised on a leafy stalk, and the candle snuffer nestles alongside a second flower tendril. Excellent fine quality. Weight 542 grams, 17.4 troy ounces. Height 7.8 cm. Spread 20.5 cm. Top 18.5 x 10 cm. London 1825. By the prestigious John Bridge, royal goldsmith to King George III and IV.

    A delightful antique silver box in super crisp condition. The top is decorated in the traditional silver and black niello with two ladies listening to a young man playing a mandolin and, in the background, on gilt stippled ground with leaf borders. The base is equally beautiful with a lady playing the harpsichord, the listener sitting in an armchair. The interior has the original gilding. Weight 55 grams, 1.7 troy ounces. Top measures 6.25 x 4.5 cms. Height 1.4 cms. Top and bottom marked with Russian silver marks. Makers mark for Ivan Kaltykov, Moskow. Dated 1827.

    A rare figural snuff box in the form of a man’s head; complete with long straggly beard, large ears and night cap. Probably Old Man Time. The smooth, hinged back opens to take the snuff. The quality and definition of the decoration is very good and the box sits very well in the hand. Weight 34 grams, 1.09 troy ounces. Length 7 cms. Width (max) 5 cms. Sterling silver. Fully marked on the back above the hinge with English silver hallmarks for Sheffield 1828. Maker probably William Nowell.

    Large size. An antique horn snuff mull with a silver mount and hinged lid. The attached chain has a small snuff spoon, bone hammer and silver mounted rabbits foot. The lid has a cut out silver mount with thistles, also a silver shield with crest and motto “MANU FORTI”. Around the top rim is a hand engraved inscription dated 1838. Spread 18 cm. Diameter 7 cm. Unmarked silver. Probably Scottish.

The top is decorated in the traditional silver and black niello with a courting couple in a strange rocky landscape and, in the background there is a tall building on a stippled ground (with minor traces of gilt). The base is equally beautiful with a young man holding a bouquet of flowers. The sides are engraved with lots of small houses. The interior has the original gilding. Weight 60 grams, 1.9 troy ounces. Top measures 6.3 x 4.5 cms. Height 1.5 cms. Top and bottom marked with Russian silver marks – makers mark, 84 grade, date mark badly struck circa 1850.
